How2 to: Build a PLEX server
Maybe you know, maybe you don't, but there is a plethora of free to watch (via wifi) TV on the web. TUBI, Pluto, WE, ONN, PLEX and a ton more. These services show ads and give you free TV in exchange. Sometimes that TV is just as good as the stuff you are paying for every month. Wouldn't it be great if you had a cheap device to save it to?
That is what PLEX can do. PLEX has been around for a while, derived from another server app and pretty much fleshed out now into its own animal. It can access drives in its installation (IE the PLEX server the video shows you how to build). You can store TV episodes and movies, and music videos, and funny videos, cat videos, whatever you want. Categorize them and be able to access them from an easy to view menu.
PLEX also has its own TV now. Free and premium. But you can enjoy the free without paying for the premium, and you can use the server software without doing anything with PLEX except setting up an account which is free.
So, when you are bored switch to your PLEX server (Yes ROKU has a PLEX APP to make that easy) and watch your stuff.
